By Traci Patterson
Consumers in 73 additional Massachusetts communities now have access to Verizon’s high-speed Internet service, which more than doubles the download speed of the telco’s DSL offering.
The new service offers qualified customers a downstream connection speed of up to 7 Mbps for as low as $39.99 per month when ordered with an annual service plan.
In February, Verizon announced a $200 million investment in broadband expansion in Massachusetts, including the launch of the company's high-speed Internet service in 24 central and western Massachusetts communities (story here). The Internet offering is now available to more than 300,000 households and small businesses in a total of 97 Massachusetts communities.
