NCTA promotes Vest to senior VP
By Mike Robuck
CedMagazine.com - September 04, 2008

The National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) said that Rita Lewis has been promoted to senior vice president.

Lewis, a veteran with more than 20 years of political and legislative experience, previously served as the NCTA’s vice president of government relations. In her new position, she will manage the association’s government relations team.

Lewis joined the NCTA on Jan. 2 from The Washington Group, a Ketchum Co. advocacy group. In her new role, she reports to NCTA President and CEO Kyle McSlarrow.

Lewis replaced Steve Vest, who left the NCTA to join Time Warner Inc. as senior vice president for global public policy.

“Already a great contributor to our government relations efforts, Rita is widely recognized for her leadership and experience in government and politics,” McSlarrow said. “Her knowledge and insights will be critical in helping cable continue to forge the constructive relationships with members of Congress and government agencies that are key to our industry’s success.”
